Mabel White Making
your own solid perfume is exactly like making your own lip balm. You
are basically just replacing flavor oils for as much essential or fragrance
oil you can stand. Making your own solid perfume only takes a few minutes to prepare in the microwave!
The nicest thing is that everyone walking around the project wants to grab a
pot when you are done. You can make a ton of pots and perfume tubes with very
little supplies! There is no recipe known to the solid perfume world better
than ours. We first pick out nice clear containers so you can see our
finished product. We facilitate 3 parts Sweet Almond Oil to 1 part
SoyWax™ and a bit of melted Beeswax.
For essential oils use lilac, patchouli,
rose, or vanilla to name a few. We also have our favorite formulas and
combinations of oils. To make a perfume stick to hand around your
neck, simply increase the SoyWax™ to one half of the mixture so it will stay firm
as a stick.
To make ten .05 ounce
containers: Have your containers open and ready. This will not
take long. Melt the beeswax in a disposable plastic cup for a minute
in the microwave and then add soy and continue to melt just a tad longer,
stirring until clear. Add the oil and stir, scent tp preference. Pour into container and you are done. They will cool
within an hour. Ingredients can be purchased from the Mabel White
Company.
1/2 Ounce of SoyWax™
1 1/2 Ounce of Mabel White's Sweet Almond Oil
1/4 Ounce Mabel's 100% Beeswax Chips
Desired drops of Essential Oil or Fragrance When making a
fragrance stick, you simply drop the
warm oil in the tube with a dropper and it cools that way. To make the
product look more uniform, you can push the product upward after it cools
and cut it straight across the top since it does not dry so perfect at the
top. Lotion Bars are also made this way, expect in a larger twist
tube.
